Carpenters

Perform all carpentry work on all construction including, but are not limited to: erection, alteration, repair, modification, demolition, and addition or improvement of or to a building or any other structure or construction.

Cement Masons

Work shall include but shall not be limited to all the following construction work:

  • All building construction, including but not limited to the construction, erection, alteration, repair, modification, demolition, addition or improvement in whole or in part of any building structure.
  • All heavy highway and engineering construction, including but not limited to the construction, improvement, modifications and demolition of all or part of any streets and highways (including sidewalks, curbs and gutters), bridges, viaducts, tunnels, airports, water supply and drainage systems and sanitation projects, wharves, docks, breakwaters or rip-rap stone, or operation incidental to such heavy construction work.
Concrete Boom Pump Operator

Conco Pumping is accepting applications for a Concrete Boom Pump Operator in all locations including the Reno metropolitan area. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right person.

A commercial drivers’ license and a clean driving record is required.

The successful applicant will receive an excellent union scale wage with family health insurance, paid overtime, company paid funding into a generous Operating Engineers pension, and other above market benefits.

Construction Laborers

Including Bridge Laborers and General Laborer’s job responsibilities include but not limited to: dumpman, load Spotter, flag person and operating a forklift.

Construction Project Engineer (Portland, Oregon)

Summary:

The Conco Companies is seeking full time Project Engineers. The Project Engineer supports the Superintendent and Project Manager on an assigned project. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and they must manage their time effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage project design documents.
  • Manage RFI Process: Write, Receive, Hyper-Link, Post, Distribute.
  • Manage submittal process.
  • Assist in payroll related activities.
  • Assists in coordinates deliveries, inventories, shortages and fabrication discrepancies for of concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, misc. embeds, etc.
  • Works with project team to optimize, troubleshoot, and resolve safety, quality, cost, and schedule of project.
  • Assists in coordination of material purchases, deliveries, tracking and forecasting ensuring maximum utilization of man-power and material.
  • Proactively participate in basic layout and field engineering activities.
  • Perform supporting projects and activities while completing all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the project and company.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft environment including MS Project.
  • Must be able to read architectural and structural drawings.
  • Proficient with Bluebeam.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Competent in current industry safety practices and technology.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the concrete industry and they get the job done through self-motivation, effective prioritization skills and integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work as a team.
Ironworkers

Perform all reinforcing work in connection with field fabrication, including but not limited to the pre-assembly of reinforcing cages, loading and unloading, handling, racking, sorting, cutting, bending, hoisting, intermittent use of forklifts, placing, burning, welding and tying of all material including the use of any and all mechanical tying devices, or substitute materials, including but not limited to, composites, carbon fiber, and fiberglass, stainless steel, used to reinforce concrete construction shall be done by Iron Workers within the individual employers’ scope of work at the jobsite, excluding FOB deliveries.

A working Iron Worker shall be employed for maintenance on jobs of substantial size while concrete is being poured on reinforcing steel, wire mesh and paper back steeltex but will not be required as a stand-by man. All work in connection with the installation, alignment, repair & modification of panelized roofing systems, pre-engineered fabric structures, aluminum clarifier coverings, carports, mini-storages, and dock planks. All work in connection with the installation, alignment, repair, and modification of bleachers, planking and stadium seating.

The following scope of work shall be performed as an Iron Workers Fence Erector: All work in connection with field fabrication, erection and construction of chain link fence, enclosures, ornamental fence, gates, playground equipment to include bolting and fastening, welding of slides and jungle gym, wood fence, rubber mats, plastic, PVC, wire and metal beam guardrail.

Operating Engineers

Operate a backhoe to excavate and load loose materials. Must have experience with the crane and hoisting equipment. Operators will operate the hoist and swing equipment used to move machinery, materials and other large objects.

Project Managers

The Conco Companies is seeking full time experienced Project Managers. The Project Managers are the project leaders that are responsible for safely delivering their project on time, with highest quality, and on budget. They do this as a team effort with the Project Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a project schedule
  • Coordinate all aspects of concrete construction with the owner and general contractor including submitting and coordinating all project schedules, pay applications, change orders, submittals and approvals, and RFIs
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships to enhance company’s ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operation efficiency.
  • Direct and coordinate activities to ensure project is on schedule and within budgeted scope
  • Responsible for financial success of projects
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to field and site superintendents
  • Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, etc., as required
  • Performs other tasks as provided by Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years Management or Engineering Degree or, equivalent combination of technical training and related experience
  • Thorough and wide-ranging knowledge of concrete-construction documents, concrete materials, and characteristics, concrete formwork systems, equipment utilization, scheduling and managing sub-contractors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the concrete industry and they get the job done through self-motivation, effective prioritization skills and integrity
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as a team
Senior Project Engineer (Fontana, California)

The Conco Companies is seeking a full time experienced Senior Project Engineer for commercial concrete construction projects in the Los Angeles Region.

Job responsibilities and duties:

  • Develop and distribute RFIs and Change Orders.
  • Define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as-build construction documents.
  • Incorporate subcontractor as-built documentation in the procedures for revising or updating contract documents.
  • Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
  • Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses.
  • Develop and maintain: Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report.
  • Manage, create, and distribute contract documents.
  • Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence.
  • Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase.
  • Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program.
  • Notify the Project Manager and Superintendent promptly of test results or inspection items that do not conform to contract requirements.
  • Manage submittals.
  • Obtain the engineer’s/architect’s approval.
  • Coordinate the packaging, review, and processing of submittals.
  • Expedite submittals to ensure material deliveries are in sync with the project schedule.
  • Communicate details and requirements for the submittal process to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the mentoring, management, and timely performance evaluation of field engineers.
  • Special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related program of study is preferred, but NOT a must.
  • Minimum of four years related construction (vertical, commercial) experience in the local market.
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
  • Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
Shotcrete (laborers, finishers and nozzleman)

Construction Laborers, including Bridge Laborers and General Laborer’s job responsibilities, include but not limited to: dumpman, load Spotter, flag person and operating a forklift. Shotcrete experience required. Positions available in all locations.

Superintendents

The Conco Companies is seeking full time experienced Superintendents. The Superintendents are the project leaders that are responsible for safely delivering their project on time, with highest quality, and on budget. They do this as a team effort with the Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to safety standards and ensures that subcontractor are compliant with all applicable safety codes and regulations
  • Supervising and developing hourly man-power labor
  • Discusses with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning, and executing work specifications and procedures to keep to schedule
  • Ensure timely project completion through project scheduling, deliveries, management of materials and document submittals
  • Responsible for financial success of projects
  • Performs other tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of a supervisory role in the concrete industry
  • Expertise multi-story cast-in-place construction
  • Ability to efficiently manage and schedule multiple crews and trades
  • Competent in current industry safety practices and technology
  • Knowledge of trade agreements
  • Thorough and wide-ranging knowledge of concrete-construction documents, concrete materials, and characteristics, concrete pumping, concrete formwork systems, equipment utilization, scheduling and managing sub-contractors
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the concrete industry and they get the job done through self-motivation, effective prioritization skills and integrity

    • Evaluate subcontract, vendor and supplier quotes
    • Prepare RFI’s
    • Oversee the budgeting and financing on a project and ensure the costs submitted are accurate
    • Communicate with the General Contractor in the bidding and construction phase

    Project Engineer

    We are looking for Project Engineers based out of our Concord, CA office. We are willing to train!

    This position will have the following primary responsibilities:

    • Jobsite required paperwork – understands required daily paperwork
      • Inspection requests
      • Safety reports
      • Pre-task paperwork
      • Tailgate meetings
    • Requests for Information (RFI’s) – Handles “field condition” issues as they arise. Need to learn requirements for processing RFIs:
      • Work with field personnel/General Contractor to identify best solution to issue
      • Provide pictures/sketches/explanations to detailer
      • Oversee field fix
    • Scheduling of Deliveries and Manpower:
      • Attend jobsite scheduling meetings with Project Manager
        • Work with Project Manager adjusting delivery/crane/manpower schedules based on scheduling meetings
        • Maintain and distribute schedules
    • Monitor and order/stock/track field/office use items:
      • Gloves, glasses and vests
      • Harnesses
      • Oxy/Acet bottles
      • Water
    • Field support:
      • Understand General Contractor’s schedule and how to achieve their goals
      • Work with and support our field personnel to achieve these goals
      • Quality control assistance
      • Once per day safety walk

    Qualifications:
