The downtown Bremerton waterfront will soon be seeing the completion of a new project, Marina Square. The complex features three levels of parking, residential units, a restaurant, bar, and a new hotel on the waterfront. Marina Square will be divided into two towers. The southern tower will accommodate 125 hotel rooms, complete with an array of amenities, a restaurant, and a bar.

The northern tower will contain over 130 apartments, residential parking, and a range of amenities that include a fitness center and rooftop deck. The tower is designed for easy access to the waterfront and provides stunning views. There are several benefits to adding Marina square, including more open space, view corridors, a connection between downtown and the shoreline, and improved parking management.

The Conco Companies has completed level L4 and L5 will be completed by the end of March. The Conco Companies has partnered with Compass Construction to complete the concrete elements of the project.

The scope of our work includes concrete finishing, concrete pumping, reinforcing, formwork, trucking, and shotcrete.

2019 ECA Awards- Conco

The Conco Companies is honored to announce and congratulate Doug Marquis of Conco Pumping on being awarded Engineering Contractors’ Association (ECA) Personal Safety Award.

At their annual installation of officers, the Engineering Contractors’ Association (ECA) awarded Doug Marquis of Conco Pumping with their Personal Safety Award. Doug was recognized for his exceptional work in the construction field forwarding worker safety. His achievements include working with equipment manufacturers to improve the safety of boom pump operators in 2018. He improved their safety by collaboratively developing systems to create tie off points when working on boom pumps. The tie-off points aid in fall prevention and related injuries.

In 2019, Doug further improved safety in the field of concrete pumping by developing two training programs. First, he developed a procedure for new and existing operators that guides and educates employees on proper concrete hose inspection before use. Second, he developed a 180 minute online safety course that reviews concrete boom pump operation and safety, as well as, hose inspection and cleaning procedures, illness and fall prevention.

Since 1976, the ECA has helped Southern California construction professionals by providing leadership and continuing education for its members.

We congratulate Doug on his ECA award and commend him for his commitment to safety and contributions to The Conco Companies.

Build Day Volunteer Program-Conco

During this holiday season, The Conco Companies along with AECOM and other industry leaders participated in a “Build Day Volunteer Program” from Habitat for Humanity of greater Los Angeles. This global nonprofit housing organization was founded in 1976, and its main focus is to assist families in need of affordable housing.

The Conco Companies was pleased to contribute and be part of a noble cause to help improve life in our communities.

2019 Food drive _blog

In this season of gratitude, we thank all our wonderful employees who took time to donate to this year’s Food Drive for the Salvation Army. We are touched by the generosity of everyone who participated. We have made a difference in the lives of 100 families this year.

For the last 3 years, we have collected food for the Salvation Army and we will participate again next Holiday season. We look forward to supporting this great cause, and thank our employees for their generosity.

2019 Pankow Awards in Outstanding Performance in Design and Engineering

The Conco Companies was recently awarded the 2019 Pankow Awards in Outstanding Performance in Design and Engineering. Recently completed, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was chosen and awarded for the second year in a row. In 2018, the coliseum received an ACI award for Outstanding Performance in Repair and Restoration for the phase 1 of the project.

Conco has successfully completed another landmark project in time and with high quality, despite rigorous schedules without impacting football seasons for USC Trojans and LA RAMS. Providing a multiple capability in concrete services such as concrete finishing, formwork, shotcrete, trucking and concrete pumping.

Since 1984 The Charles J. Pankow Jr award recognizes outstanding and innovative use of concrete construction, in honor of Charles J. Pankow Jr who served as the international president of the ACI in 1980-1981, and the Conco Companies is honored to receive this distinction.
